The Leica Digicat i-Series locators make ground surveys a simple and speedy task increasing on site safety. Defaulting to power mode, maximum sensitivity ensures operators are protected against lethal electrical cables, whilst additional modes are used to detect other buried utilities. The Leica Digicat i-Series locators provide operators with a simple solution for underground surveys. Designed with safety in mind, the Leica Digicat i-Series have a number of features which keep operators safe during the excavation process.
State-of-the-art Digital Signal Processing technology (DSP).
Automatic controls – making the Digicat easy-to-use, requiring minimal user experience.
Power Mode start up ensuring the most potentially dangerous current carrying services are detected first (non xf locators only).
Hazard Zone – Buried utilities close to the surface pose a safety risk to site works. The Hazard Zone function provides an additional warning of the close proximity of buried services, alerting users to the immediate danger.
Pinpoint assist - Maintains the highest peak reading obtained on the signal strength indicator. The peak hold time can be adjusted between 0-5 seconds allowing the operator to quickly and accurately pinpoint the service position.
Signal Strength Indicator - SSI enables the user to trace an individual service amongst a multiple of services. The numeric display shows the highest reading over the service, which has the Leica Digitex connected too. This ensures the user can follow the service without straying onto another. The SSI mode can also be used to trace the Dual Frequency Sonde with ease.
Built-in test function for testing hardware and software.
LCD screen with built-in light sensor, automatically enabling the backlight in dark conditions.
Robust, lightweight design, specifically engineered for tough site conditions.
Service Due Indicator - supporting planned maintenance schedules or quality systems by displaying a wrench icon after 12 months.
Additional features on the Digicat xf Locators
Mode Lock - On all xf-Series, the locator starts in the last mode of operation at maximum sensitivity to simplify the tracing process. Mode Lock is an operator defined setting.
Current Measurement - Displays the amount of current flowing through a service helping to trace and verify the utility the Leica Digitex is connected too.
Increased Digimouse (sonde) Depth Estimation - An Improved depth estimation up to 9.99 metres for a greater tracing capability when using the Leica Digicat 550i xf or 650i xf.
512Hz and 640Hz Tracing Modes – Enables long distance tracing and the detection of camera – sewer inspection systems.
Controls: On/Off, Mode select, Information select & view
Frequencies: Power 50 or 60Hz, Radio 15-60kHz, Transmitter 60Hz 6kHz (512Hz and 640Hz on xf locators)
Depth range: Power 3 metres, Radio 2 metres, Transmitter – dependent on service and transmitter
Dust and water protection to IP54
Supplied with six AA (LR6) batteries (battery life 30 hours)
Quick start and CD-ROM including user manual and Certificate of Conformity.
The unique onboard memory found on the Leica Digicat 600i or Digicat 650i extends this safety concept. The onboard memory function stores information on how the locator has been used, this information can be uploaded using Logicat software for further analysis increasing on site safety, whilst identifying training needs. The Leica Digicat 550i locator has the same functionality as the Digicat 500i, with the added benefit of depth estimation when used in conjunction with the Leica Digitex 100t and 300t signal transmitter or Digimouse (sonde) in 8/33 kHz mode. Available for 50Hz or 60Hz to suit your regions mains power frequency
